When I was first starting out on my Kombucha venture, I followed every brewer I could find on Instagram, the two UK brewers to resonate with me were Kitty’s Kombucha and Kompassion Kombucha, both of these businesses have a desirable ethos and I aspire to their non compromising attitude towards sustainability.
Looking through posts on Kitty’s Kombucha’s Instagram I found a beautiful Kombucha dispenser fashioned from a second hand fridge, what a wonderful thing! cold carbonated Kombucha sold by volume with no packaging.
This Kombucha dispenser is called a Kegerator. In America many home beer brewers convert their old fridges and freezers into kegerators and Keezers so that they can enjoy their brews on tap. With the help of Arthur, a local designer I embarked on creating a Kombucha dispenser for The Healthy Gut Company. Luckily proud Kegerator and Keezer builders have documented their creations on YouTube, so we were able to see every stage of the process.
My goal is to have a fleet of dispensers installed in zero waste shops, cafés, office buildings etc serving Kombucha in drinkers own reusable vessels.
What’s more The Healthy Gut Company definitely needs a bicycle bar, inspiration check out @kompassionkombucha
